Susanne Ouellet, Geotechnical Engineer and Founder
Dr. Susanne Ouellet is the founder of Lumidas, a cleantech startup specializing in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring of critical infrastructure. With over a decade of experience in combined consulting and research, Susanne brings a multidisciplinary approach to solving geotechnical problems. Susanne’s PhD research at the University of Calgary focused on the application of an emerging fiber optic sensing technology with passive seismic techniques to reveal new insights into tailings dam performance. Dr. Ouellet is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta and serves on the Calgary Geotechnical Society executive committee. A list of her current publications can be found here. Through Lumidas, Susanne aims to provide state-of-the-art monitoring solutions, specializing in fiber optic sensing and passive seismic techniques, to advance best practices for geotechnical monitoring of critical infrastructure.

Geneviève Savard, Senior Research Scientist and Co-founder
Dr. Geneviève Savard is a Senior Research Scientist at Lumidas, working to develop advanced geophysical analytics for subsurface monitoring. Her broad expertise in passive seismic methods has been applied to geothermal systems, CO₂ storage, and mineral exploration. She excels at integrating large geophysical datasets, developing scientific software, and leading research initiatives from concept to delivery. At the University of Geneva, she collaborated with academic and industry partners to advance geophysical exploration methods. With a multidisciplinary background and strong technical foundation, Dr. Savard is passionate about tackling complex geophysical challenges and advancing subsurface monitoring for cleantech. Dr. Savard holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of British Columbia and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Montreal. A list of her current publications can be found here.
